I’ll be interviewed by Fox News today at 2:35 Eastern. We’ll be talking about the new album Third World Symphony and, more than likely, the ministry of Compassion International too. You can watch the interview live at live.foxnews.com.
If all goes well, I hope a few folks watching Fox will hop over to ShaunGroves.com to maybe learn a bit more about me and my music. Feels like out of town guests are coming over and I should clean the toilets and scrub the base boards, put some healthy stuff in the fridge and go get some living house plants to replace those wilted things over there.
There’s this feeling that I should put my best foot forward. But I’m so tired of talking about me.
How about someone else’s feet instead? So…
Have you met my friend Ann? Have you read Ann’s book One Thousand Gifts? Only once? You should walk through it again – this time with a pencil in your hand and a notebook close by. It’s so beautiful and dense, written to remind us of the potency of the smallest prayer: Thank you, God.
It inspired a couple songs on Third World Symphony. So if you came here because you wanted to learn more about my music you should start by learning more about gratitude from Ann. Get the book!
And while you’re waiting on it to arrive…Here are a couple videos of Ann and me talking in her wheat field in beautiful middle-of-nowhere Canada about gratitude and the connection between her words and my music.

Kris says:
ooh, I will be watching the interview, and paying for you. I am sure you are weary, may God be your strength….
Kris says:
oops, that should be PRAYING for you. I don’t think I can afford to PAY for you ๐
MainlineMom aka Sarah says:
Can’t wait to see it…totally praying for you today. And yes, Ann’s book is a gift like nothing else I’ve ever read. I’m slowly working my way though it, because the truths are SO PROFOUND. I have started following her habit of writing down gifts and it is making all the difference in the world.
Melody Joy King says:
I just got Ann’s book in the mail yesterday and can’t put it down! It truly is a gift.
Michael Patterson says:
I’ll be tuned in!
Katie says:
I love the way you express doing some housecleaning and scrubbing the toilets because new people are coming. I feel that say way every time I hand out a business card but I’ve never been able to put it into words. Thanks!
Katie

Great interview!! Praying that God will use the interview to accomplish His purpose.
BTW, better hair than Sebastian Bach!
Patricia says:
came into your interview near the end ~ but I love the way you are out there, spreading your music/compassion/ann/ ~ you have a gentle spirited heart ~ hey I have most of your songs memorized ~ just love them and the stories behind each ~ I read Ann’s book awhile ago and am feeling the desire to reread again. I have a 1000 gift journal and have recorded over 200 daily gifts…It certainly has opened up my eyes, slow down and the desire to simplify ~ blessings Shaun – Patricia

I second the hair thing
Kelli says:
Bummer! I missed it. I’ve been digging out from under boxes all day. Just came up for air.
The first thing I did was set Ann’s book on my nightstand. I’m on my second read through. I read it before I go to sleep, then I wake up and dig into the Word with gratitude still on my heart. The entire book is a theological poem and I feel like I can’t soak it up fast enough.
Inkling says:
Only you could get me to watch Fox news and recommend it on facebook, knowing that my brother will give me trouble for it. ๐
But seriously, great interview, and I am praying that the exposure gets people over here so they can hear your heart and be encouraged the way we have over here in our home. We love your latest music project and it spurs us on in our rather downwardly mobile life in the middle of everyone else’s rat race.
I’m glad I found out about you from Ann Voskamp. Between your music and her book, Jesus has been doing some pretty cool things in my heart. It has made me understand how to be a better wife to my very unique husband and how to catch his vision for life and ministry. Thank you for that.
Maria Le says:
