I’ve read Brant’s Batman post a dozen times, twice to other people. I can’t get parts of it out of my head. And I’ve got no better words to write, so please go read his.

Kinda off topic but,
Shaun… This seems like something that you might already do, but you (well everyone) should check out “This American Life” this week #359. The third story particularly is very interesting and thought provoking, and reminds me of some of the forgotten costs of war. (The episodes are available free to download for a week on Itunes or they can be streamed anytime on their website.)

That line (your title) rings in my ears, as well.

Yo Shaun – thank you for the link to Brant’s post – movies might not be the final sign of the end of times but oh dear!? I’m one of those deeply scarred and gratefully saved people who finds life instruction in scripture (because I truly, painfully and stupidly looked everywhere else )
Philippians 4:8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Wow. I have no words. I don’t feel right about seeing that movie, despite the peer pressure. Thank you for the link.
