Before the kids and the minivan and this grown up life of mine I actually listened to music I liked. For hours.
A wise man once warned me that the music coming out of me can only be as good as the music going into me. So I’ve been making time lately to just listen again.
Join me. Go hide in your closet. The kids’ll be fine. Probably. Plug in those earphones and have a listen.

Um, whoa. Were you secretly spying into my iPod’s most frequently played in the last month list or what?! Needless to say, I think you have great taste ๐
FzxGkJssFrk says:
Looking forward to it. Along these lines, it might not be too much of a stretch to say my iPod has changed my life… well, okay, it’s probably a little bit of a stretch. But still – it’s hard to beat the awesomeness of My Top Rated on shuffle.
Amy says:
I’ve always wished that the music coming out of me could be as good as the music going into me. ๐ glad you have that God-given talent though.

While you’re in the closet, check out The Civil Wars album Barton Hollow. So good. I’m surprised it’s not already on this list actually.

Agreed. What an unfortunate oversight. No excuse. No excuse at all.
So I added it.
Dana says:
Well done, sir.

Praise music that jams with a cello and xylophone? Yes, please! ๐
Abby says:
Love the selection! The Avett Brothers songs, All My Mistakes & January Wedding (married in Jan, pretty partial) are my favorites as well as I & Love & You.
I’ve heard great things about catching a Gungor show live. Have you heard of Robinella? She’s local to East TN & her voice/music is incredible. Link: http://www.robinella.com/

Some of these are already on repeat here, but I am so happy to have new music. We don’t go a day without listening and dancing to “Flags” at this house. Love.
Molly Piper says:
“Rain” has been one of my favorite songs for…well…since it came out. And “Beautiful Things”…can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven with that full blast with tears streaming down.
Thanks, Shaun.
keith says:
I have no idea what that Mumford and Sons video is about, but the lack of a banjo is a glaring oversight.

Oh, just what I needed tonight! Thank you!
christina brown says:

Kathy says:
Loving some of these picks (like Gungor, The Avett Brothers, Brooke Fraser & Patty Griffin), and you threw some of my favs in (M&S & Ben Folds), too! The chorus singing of Death In His Grave always makes me want to worship along. Thanks for sharing, now I’m going to go look up more by these artists!
Sarah says:
Thank you for this musical education!
May I please suggest my friend (and fellow Bryan College alum) Josh Bales? http://www.joshbales.com
You MUST listen to his “Hymn for All the World.” Really & truly, I think you would love it.
I even found a link on youtube, just for you. the quality of sound is poor, but the quality of truth is great.
