I’m leaving this morning for two gigs at the University of Florida and one at LeTourneau University in Texas.
(NOTE: I realize these aren’t on my tour page at the moment. It’s got demons all up in it somewhere and I can’t get gigs to show up. I also can’t get my show in Oklahoma last month to not show up.)
I’ve got a packing problem when I’m doing more than two gigs in a row. I’ve got two suitcases and, once upon a time, if I packed enough Compassion sponsorship packets to meet (hoped for) demand I wouldn’t have room for enough CDs to meet (hoped for) demand.
Maybe this is the entire reason demand for my music has, um, diminished a bit: So I’ve got room for more “kids” in my suitcase. I blame Compassion.
In other news, I think one of my kids has strep. I’m leaving just in time…I mean, I wish I could stay and help my wife with the kids this week.
Fred F. McKinnon says:
Shaun,
The music is great, no doubt. I suppose we have to beg the question, what is making a bigger impact, the CDs, or the sponsors for the kids.
Thanks for all you’re doing. I think of your music often when I hear the same overplayed rehash of worship songs non-stop on our local radio dial. I miss the creative, original, fresh material from the artists – music that was “their own”.
Say hello to Tebo while you’re in G’Ville, and if you could find a way to lovingly cause his absence for the GA-FL game, we’d all be forever grateful.
(what a freaked perspective, eh?)
For the Kingdom,
Fred McKinnon

U of F? Please make sure to sterilize everything before you return and don’t even think of wearing anything blue and orange next time you play ND. YIKES!

Gainesville is a wonderful place, despite Grovesfan’s obvious bias.
Both the FCA and BCM there are great ministries – I worked with them for years before I moved.
Also, I’ve emailed you twice about forming a partnership with Compassion. Have you gotten them and not been interested? Or is it something else?
Have a great trip and Go Gators!

Hey, I might come to the gig at Letourneau, being from Tyler and all…do they need more people to work the compassion tables? Or who would I contact about that?
