Sometimes I wish my job was making videos. It’s not because I have incredible videos skillz (Yep, I threw a “z” down right there). I think I just enjoy communicating and creating without talking or typing for a change.
Tonight I drove from Nashville to Chattanooga, checked into the hotel room and got to work. I got lost in editing – felt great – so lost I forgot to call my wife and let her know I arrived safely – not so great.
Anywho, here’s what I made.

I’ll be pretty busy making videos on this upcoming Dominican Republic trip too. Unlike our trip to Uganda – with a few of us wielding video cameras and flexing our iMovie skillz (Yep, I did it again) – I’m the only blogger on this next trip who makes videos…that I’m aware of. Hmmm. I need to remedy that on the next trip. Know any bloggers (with lots of readers) who post original videos? Let me know.
Good night. Tomorrow’s a busy day: Speaking and playing all day long.

Fantastic work! I envy your level of patience… I worked for the A/V department in college and was forced to edit videos for various campus groups. If I ever have to make another “sizzle clip” I think I’ll hang myself with a mouse cable. It’s amazing how turning 60 minutes into 30 seconds can take 15 hours (and 7.5 years off of your life.)
Remember… Don’t be afraid to post some raw footage. Just get it out there, it will still have an impact. Sometimes no editing is better than rushed editing. You can always fix it when you get home.

Loren, I’m using iMovie. The titles used a third party plug-in for iMovie though – a demo version, actually. The only effect that works in the demo is the one I used – lucky me.
Thanks for the kind words.

Well done.
Love the sound. Makes for and “uncomfortable” viewing. I like it.
Keep it up!

The level of fear is *not* “unprecedented” – the old VIX (now VXO) hit 172 during the 1987 crash. That is the record. The VXO hit 103.41 today which is still 40% below the 1987 crash level. It’s nice to have the VXO around at times like this if only to be able to make valid comparisons with the pre-change VIX.
