Shared a plane with Jeff Deyo this morning (well, and a couple hundred other folks too). We first met years ago – about eight I think – when I was interning as a music publishing company. he stuck his head in to say hey. Artist types rarely paid me any attention, much less pulled up a chair and hung out. He’s was a good guy then and he still is – all smiles and a big hug in the aisle of our Southwest flight.
He’s headed to Tulsa to play ORU tonight. He just snuck up on me here at our Kansas City gate and demanded I blog about him in exchange for that hug earlier today.
More form the road later. They’re boarding group A.

Someone passed me a copy of Jeff’s “Light” CD a while back. It is a great album, put together quite differently from most out there. I remember a single from that album getting pretty solid airplay for a while.
You’re probably not the only artist he has stalked though, as he has several duets on that album if I remember correctly, with the likes of Mac Powell and Natalie Grant.
It would be interesting to know what he is up to these days.

Jeff is a nice guy! And, He really loves Jesus. I had a chance to pray and work with him at a youth conference in about…2000 (?) when the whole sonic thing was a shambles…
In honor of this reference… I posted a picture of Jeff on my blog from that conference…
