The words ”social justice” are now officially overused to the point of having their meaning depleted. They join other recent inductees “poor” and “starving” in the Words That Once Meant Something But Don’t So Much Anymore Hall of Fame. “Social justice” was voted most likely to become meaningless back in 1985 after a Live Aid concert but was only recently honored after being auctioned on Ebay.

They took down the listing, what was it for, the words themselves?
Shaun Groves says:
Oooooh. Busted.
It was a listing put up by an angry college who felt he was ripped off by Creative’s mp3 player. It stopped working shortly after he bought it. So, he put it up for auction to raise money with which he plans to buy an Apple video iPod.
In his listing he says that by buying his dead mp3 player you’re actually buying “social justice.”

Clever auction. I wonder how far he got?
