I’m at Elevation Church this morning, in Auburn, California – Brody’s hometown.  Ever wonder what happens to recording artists after they stop making music?  Lots of them, apparently, start churches.  Elevation is headed up by two guys, one of them the former front man for the defunct Silage – Damian Horne.  That’s just a little intimidating for me. 

Silage’s second record (Vegas Car Chasers) was released before I was ever signed, back when I was an intern at a publishing company.  It was far too different for radio stations to play and book stores to get behind.  It flopped but it was inspiring to me – a mash up of hip hop, rock and pop that I’d never heard before.

Damian and Brody are old friends so here we are, after a long drive from Susanville, CA last night, running on less sleep than we’d like, playing at Damian’s church.  I love my job.
