It’s very late in Mwanza, Tanzania – eight hours later than back home – and the bloggers I’m traveling with are hard at work, pecking away at their keyboards trying to put day one here into words for you. That’s a task made even harder by a lot of jetlag and a little sickness.
Despite how her body feels, Jolanthe has written beautifully about the joy she felt today surrounded by the beautiful music of gratitude. And Amy, who’s healthy so far, wrote about two things she was surprised to learn about Compassion today. Maybe these are things you’ve never heard before either? Both posts are worth checking out.
The other bloggers will be finishing their posts soon. I hope. I can’t go to bed until they do! When they’re done you’ll be able to read them all at compassionbloggers.com/tanzania.
Thank you for coming along on our trip to Tanzania. Now, try to flip your nights and days with us and you can have the whole experience we’re having. (Chicken.)

As a sponsor of two teens in Tanzania, I am reading every word of all the blogs, trying to soak up as much of their culture as possible. Thanks for taking us there!
Amy says:
I won’t flip my days with nights, but I promise to pray for you when I am awake at 4AM. ๐
2PM your time. Yep, that will be a good time to pray.
Patricia says:
Praying you can get some sleep now. So glad you made it to the final destination. The posts were great, despite the fatigue! Steve and I are reading every twitter, every post and loving it! Steve is waking up early now reading everything like an obsessed fan, then he gives me the morning briefings when I wake up. It’s quite charming I must say. We love it. We are praying, along with so many others, that the trip influences the lives of many children in Tanzania. Give my love to all!

If you happen to run across a young lady named Fatuma, please give her a hug for me! She is my correspondent child and just got straight A’s on her report card! ๐
Teena says:
Hi, Shaun! Following with you guys! Wondering what project you are visiting…my oldest daughter sponsors a little girl from Tanzania! I keep thinking about how great if you were to hug her for us. We all write her. So thankful for all you do!
Praying!
Grace,
Teena
