Sorry I’ve been absent for a few days.
First, I came home from a week-long youth conference I was teaching at and unplugged for a few days. For the most part. Savored some adult conversations. Ate home-cooked meals. Ah. Home.
Then, I went to Colorado, to Compassion’s office, to film a couple things that will hopefully be used to promote both the new album and the ministry of Compassion on-line. They have this incredibly realistic replica of a child development center (aka project) in their office – and that’s where we filmed. I’ll post the videos here when they’re done.
Speaking of the new record…
I was privileged to have Chaz Russo, lead designer for Relevant Magazine, design the cover. Just got the final version yesterday. Check it out!
And I hired The Media Collective to head up publicity for the launch of Third World Symphony. Velvet, the founder, was the publicist for my very first record way back in 2000. Years later, she generously donated her team’s services to publicize Help Haiti Live, a benefit for disaster relief we put together here in Nashville two years ago. Today, The Media Collective serves the top artists in our industry – Mercy Me, Amy Grant, Derek Webb, Owl City, Skillet and many more. She and her team are hard at work getting the word out about Third World Symphony through traditional and on-line media channels before it releases on August 30th. If you’re a member of the media and would like to learn more, get in touch here. (Thank you.)
I’ll be heading up the blog side of things – coming up with as many creative ways as possible to partner with bloggers to share the music and message of Third World Symphony. Got any ideas? Want to promote the new album on your site somehow? I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail.
And if you haven’t listened to the album yet here ya go.

Shaun, I’ll help you in any way I can. Just let me know what you want. (Hey, since I live near you, I could show up somewhere and stuff CDs in envelopes if you need it.)
CEM says:
Beautiful cover. And, again, I love that you kept the original title.

Jenn says:
The cover is BEAUTIFUL! I have already shared on twitter & facebook, but I’m planning on a blog post to promote the CD. I am really sad for anyone who doesn’t buy this one.
JessicaB says:
There’s not a new way for me to say I love this album.
But in celebration of being repetitive:
I love this album.

Truly a stellar album Shaun! I didn’t think you could top “Twilight,” and “Third World Symphony” was worth the six year wait for the return of one of my first loves in Christian music. You continue to write and sing the most moving, inspired and deeply passionate songs in CCM. You are still my number one soft rock star! My full review will be posting soon, along with a devotional based on one of the songs. Thanks so much for blessing us with this new album.

Hi Shaun,
I just got linked up to your music through Inspired to Action. I’m so excited about the album and your inspiration. Our family is spending 6 months following a dream God gave us to serve the poor. We’re currently in the Philippines and bound for Mozambique next (with our 1 and 3 year old). There are so many incredible stories to be told in the 3rd world and so much for us to learn. I appreciate your expression through music.
Huge Blessings,
Christine
