I’ve been remarking on it all day: Alberta is like Texas only colder. Lots of wide open spaces between cities. Lots of good food. Cowboy hats. Boots. Blue jeans. Friendly folks with (not) a little arrogance and pride over their beef.
It’s just that Alberta is as cold in the Winter as Texas is hot in the Summer. It’s like…like…bizarro Texas. And I love it here.
But I can’t wait to get home tomorrow and hug my wife and kids. This run of shows has seemed particularly long. And it’s only been four days. But very worth it.
Three church services this morning and one concert this evening – around 100 kids sponsored altogether. That brings the total for this weekend to around 250 kids!
It’s been an incredible day with incredible people in an incredible place. Thanks, Alberta.

Thanks for the show Shaun.
Anytime you want to come in the name of the Lord, you are more than welcome. And I really appreciated the words being posted on the wall because I was embarrassed to stand if I couldn’t sing along and I like being the woman who literally stands for Canada and the presence of God.
You can come visit anytime.

Never been to Alberta, but been to Texas (in the summer!) several times, so trying to imagine a bizarro Texas. The photos on your last post are amazing, Banff is on my list of places to see for sure! Prayers for safe travel for you guys today, and praises for so many kids getting sponsored!

I’m born and raised Albertan and lived in Texas for two years.
Not really the same. On the surface yeah, but we don’t quite hit the level of conservatism I met down there.
Glad you enjoyed your stay.
And the beef? It’s worth being proud of.

I’m originally from Quebec, so I know how the rest of the country feels about the French-speaking Canadians.
Last time I was in Alberta was for my best friend’s wedding. Her husband-to- be proposed to her in Banff.
So glad that you got a chance to see the Great White North…now I call Wisconsin home, just as cold though, “eh?”

Reminds me of my home state of New Jersey, which in reality is four states in one:
1) Nort Jersey (spelling correct–Bizarro New York)
2) Sout Jersey (spelling correct–Bizarro Mississippi)
3) Central Jersey (Bizarro Philadelphia)
4) Down the Shore (Bizarro Hawaii)
