I’m sleeping in mine tonight, but still thinking about theirs.

We just took our youth group to the DR and Haiti for mission work this past Summer. Thanks for bringing light to the needs there. No one “flipped” over us as they did in your other pictures, but the adults in the church we worked with did throw our pastor for his birthday (no joke) . . . traditions are interesting.
I look forward to returning to the DR for future mission work. I’m glad Compassion is there.
Wow. It is hard to believe that while we sleep warm and safe, that so many do not.
Great work Shaun! Thank you for including 5M4M on the trip. I wish I had been able to attend myself, but Jennifer was a blessing covering for us and I am sure a blessing on the trip for you all as well.
Today Jackson (my six year old son) and I chose a boy Jackson’s age from DR to sponsor. We have a World Vision child as well – but I figure we needed a DR Compassion child as well.
Jackson is so excited. He already drew a picture for our child and wrote to him in Spanish.
Janice, thank you for loaning us Jennifer for the week. It’s always good to have a Texan (or three) along for the ride, even if she is currently serving as an ambassador in Connecticut.
And thank you for sponsoring a child in the DR with your son. Keep writing. It makes an impact every time you do it.

Enjoyed your “word picture” series. They are some of my favorite posts from the trip–but I happen to be someone who likes brevity.
