On Blaming Your Church For Making You Too Busy And Burning You Out

imageNyQuil contains Dextromethorphan (or DXM), a “cough suppressant.” But that’s not all it is.

In the human body DXM breaks down into dextrorphan, a cough suppressant, and levorphanol, a pain killer five times as powerful as morphine.  The National Institute on Drug Abuse lists levorphanol as a dissociative drug – in the same class as PCP.

Scary stuff.  It’s harmless, they say, if you take the amount directed on NyQuil’s wrapper.

If, however, you were to take, oh, twelve times what its label recommends, well, your cereal might start talking.

NyQuil is evil.  Ruined breakfast for me.  Now I take echinacea instead.
