Thanks to Kat the first episode of Shlogcast is up. We’ll add it to the Vault page soon for quick download. For now click here to download it for FREE from the iTunes Store.
In Shlogcast Episode One Derek Webb talks about why he’s a hypocrite. (His words not mine.) And, with his record deal expiring, he tries to explain what he’s doing next.
You can talk about this episode of Shlogcast in the comments of this post or over on it’s thread at the message board.

Great interview! Can I assume there is video on a podcast? I only got the audio, but it may have something to do with the computer I’m using from a remote office today…

Shaun Groves says:

You asked some great questions, Shaun!
Jenni Wilson says:
Well, just how cool is it that I got a comment on my blog from The Actual Shaun Groves?
That’s pretty cool. Kinda made my morning.
Thanks for that, and for songs that minister to me so perfectly at times I feel they are straight from God’s heart to mine.
Many Blessings…

Shaun, that was an awesome first podcast! I think you’ve set the bar very high for podcasting in general. I love how much there is to digest in this one podcast and even though I don’t normally keep a podcast after I listen to it once, there is a lot to take in with this one.
Thanks so much for asking Derek some of the questions I’ve had about his paradoxical comments on not being judged as a “Christian artist”, “based on his worldview”, “not liking playing in churches” and “being on a Christian label”. You were right, his answers were actually pretty consistent and somewhat surprising. I had recently listened to his podcast about his advice to aspiring musicians and I thought you really hit on all of the key points from that podcast.
Obviously I want to hear more about what Shaun Groves has to say on many of those same issues and for fun of course I’d love to hear you record some light and funny podcasts as well. Anyway, great debut and I urge all of Shaun’s fans to give it a 5 star review on iTunes to get Shaun placement on one of the podcast pages of iTunes.

Great job Shaun!

Shaun, back to this thread for a minute. Do you believe that if a band has its song played on a radio station, that band is implicitly endorsing all the PSAs, ads, between-song chatter, and other bands also played by that radio station? How about interviews with magazines and newspapers? Does such an interface imply endorsement, or is it simply a platform from which you hope to have your music and ideas launched?
