On the back wall of the church hung a framed picture of Bill Hybels, our patron saint of attractional church. It was the early nineties when Chris Seay (pastor), David Crowder (music guy) and lots of their friends launched University Baptist in a white dilapidated hand-me-down wooden church…

My dentist lives in North Carolina. Many years ago, when we first met, Tracy was a volunteer worship leader at her church and brought me there to sing and speak about Compassion International. And to clean my teeth.
Four visits (I think) to Burlington later, more than 300 kids have been sponsored – because of Tracy!… 
One Day & One Thousand Gifts
Edmond, Oklahoma to Dallas to New Orleans to Tampa to Buffalo to a farm where pigs and wheat and soybeans and children are raised. Our few hours with the Voskamps were well-worth the twelve it took to get there.

There was a time when I couldn’t go a week without mentioning “Redneck Neighbor” and his wife on my blog. When we first moved to the cul-de-sac they welcomed us with open arms, cold beers and a good amount of skepticism about Christians and Christianity. My how things have changed.
