Weeks ago, I told you my son’s sponsored child Achile needed a life-saving operation. I asked you (and over 800 Compassion Bloggers) to pitch in, to post, tweet, and give. And pray to God who heals the brokenhearted…literally!
God answered our prayers!
You spread the word and you gave! Generously. More money was raised than needed. I don’t have an official total number but it’s at least $26,000 that you raised/gave and only $20,449 was requested for the surgery. The excess will go into Compassion’s medical assistance fund to heal other children in need. Thank you for giving!
And God healed! Achile made the long trip from Brukina Faso in Western Africa to specialists in India and the surgery went off without a hitch. He’s doing great! I received these pictures today of Achile in the hospital recovering with Spiderman.

Wow, it seems like just a couple weeks ago that you made the request and the surgery is already over and paid for, leaving people like me who tried to work it into next months budget without an individual to give to. That’s amazing fundraising and medical efficiency. There probably isn’t a western country in the world that would have pulled off the surgery in the same amount of time.
