Let’s see if I can figure out how to do this, Son.

If I had been mean to you, as I child, I could understand you taking out your revenge, but I can’t remember being mean enough to deserve THIS humiliation!!!

What did I do - what? What? WHAT???

Don’t answer that, Son

I used to work with an Aggie, and knowing that your dad is an Aggie makes the UT sawhorses sooooo funny.... : )

And ‘til this day, Shaun still looks at a hammer and says “how does this work?”

In the picture, Shaun, you’re holding the hammer like you’re looking down the sight of a rifle. Great picture, Shaun!

My Dad says he doesn’t how to leave a comment on this here blog, so I’ll leave it for him…

He says with all the stuff I know how to do with a computer he’s surprised I don’t know how to put a black bar over his butt crack.

To which I responded - I know how. I just didn’t. And, no one can see butt crack in this picture. Close, but no crack.

Then he says he wants you to know those UT sawhorses in the background do not mean that he graduated from University of Texas. He’s an Aggie. They mean “somebody” stole them from UT’s campus.

Lastly, he says his greatest concern with this picture going public is that it might cause my mother to lust after him. To which I said “la la la la la la” while wedging my fingers firmly into my ear holes.

I thought a lot about my dad today. He’s been gone for almost 19 years now, but my memories are still as fresh as yesterday about all the great times shared. He wasn’t a perfect dad, but he was a very good one. He loved to share Jesus with anyone and he lived out the Christian faith daily. I loved him dearly and I still miss him.

Love the photo. Went to see my dad today, who is now 80 and living in a very loving and caring nursing home. The last dozen years have been hard, seeing him decline and trying to “rein him in...” It still hasn’t happened! But what has beautifully occurred is that I appreciate and love him more than ever, and he is intuitive, and verbalizes his love more than ever. What a blessing.
