Dear Shaun,

I’ve been reading your blog for a while now and I’ve followed the Compassion Bloggers postings through the past 3 trips. My heart is in shreds.

I sing on the praise team at my church and we’re big fans of Hillsong United. Right now a song of theirs that we use is Hosanna. The bridge says “Break my heart for what breaks Yours, Everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause...”

I just wanted to say that God is using your posts to finally do just that. I have been choked with apathy for so long and I have deliberately closed my eyes to the suffering that others in the world are going through. I’m now being wakened to some awful truths about myself but the truth is not what scares me. What scares me is falling back asleep.

Anyway thanks for the painful prodding and I’m talking to my husband about sponsoring a child.

Sorry for the long comment.

They provide beds for the world’s orphaned and abandoned children...so that this doesn’t exist.
