What do luck, evolution and doctors have in common? Any guesses?
I’m busy teaching my kids this morning, then off to the doctor, and maybe when I get back I’ll have time to answer this question late today. If not, then tomorrow. See you then.

I have no idea, but I’m sure you’re going to educate me at some point on this. You’re very good at educating me; even if I am one of your “old” friends.
Penicillin.
Common ways to explain away the work of God.
They’re all anathema to certain Fundamentalist sects.
Kristie and Chaotic Hammer, very close.
You don’t believe in any of them
You evolved a weakness in your body (say, a rib- since we all know that evolution only makes things worse) and as luck would have it one of your lovely children has damaged that rib, thus the need to visit a doctor!
Nope, HG. I believe in all of them. But “believe” gets you closer to the connection.
hi Shaun,
Interesting riddle. I think I can get two out of three, maybe, but “evolution” has me stuck.
I’m thinking make your own luck.
Take care of yourself (eat healthy and exercise) so you don’t need to rely on doctors.
Educate yourself so you are constantly evolving.
That said, at some point you will need the help of others, you will need good luck, and you will be thankful for modern medicine.
I don’t know… I’m stumped.

You are teaching your kids with the hope that they might one day become “doctors”, the subject that you are covering today is how creation is reality and “evolution” is a myth, and with a little “luck”, they won’t be told otherwise by their friends who are being schooled in the public school system where the theory of evolution runs rampant. Also, you are planning to write a song with this title!
If you’re lucky, you won’t evolve into a 60 year old still waiting in the doctor’s waiting room for your appointment on January 15, 2009, at 10:00 am.
Evolution is simply a working way of explaining the growth and development of anything. When evolution is made a fetish and taken to mean God, then call it “bosh”; but evolution in a species, in an idea, in teaching, is exactly what our Lord taught: born of the Spirit and going on “till we all attain…unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” ~ Oswald Chambers, The Highest Good
