I’m at a Starbucks between Ft. Lauderdale (where I spent yesterday and this morning) and Lakeland (where I’ll play tonight) checking my mail and posting an update on the week’s shows for you guys.
Someone told me this morning that Ft. Lauderdale’s county – Broward, I think it is – leads the nation in plastic surgeries. And they have the most traffic accidents. (Put that on a billboard.) Related? I don’t know. But I can attest to the amount of silicon and and bad drivers down here. But they’re very generous augmented and crash-prone people. Really. Good folks all around.
Last night the folks at Christ Church sponsored 35 kids and this morning I spoke to a group of musicians who showed interest in bringing Compassion to their audiences the way I do.
Now I’m off to the highways again – pray for me – yikes – on my way to Lakeland, Florida and the folks at Kathleen Community Church. Then, in the morning, I get to go home. Ah, my own bed and I-65. I can’t wait.
By the way, I’ve had several people ask me out here this week about how to get me to their church to speak or sing about Compassion. I guess I haven’t explained that in a while, so here goes: It’s free to the church or college that brings me out. All they pay for is a meal and a hotel room. I pay for my travel. That’s the deal if I can talk about Compassion for a few minutes during the church service or concert or whatever it is you bring me in for. To bring me out to experience your traffic and release some kids from poverty just email my booking guy Ben at .
Oh, and Stinky Pete is back.
Goody.
Only three more hours of highway to go.

Be careful if you drive near Nashville tomorrow. The A-Sun championships start at Lipscomb [we’re hosting], and there will be extra traffic on the interstates.
Sorry to hear that Pete is back. Hopefully he and his family will get deported and be gone for good this time.
We really enjoyed the evening with you last night in the land of the silicon people who can’t drive. Hope you make it back here again soon!

Ah, stinky Pete!

Silicone: sih-lih-kone – a component of various caulks and building materials and prosthetic chests.
Funny post, by the way…
I was born in Ft. Lauderdale (Broward County General Hospital), but left there when I was 6. Can’t say as I’ve missed it much. Way too big, busy, hot and humid. Connie Francis sings a great tune about that place though.

Yeayyy you get to go home!

BOOOO on Pete for coming back.
