We’ve sponsored two boys from Uganda, though the reason for the second was because our first boy died in October. After supporting him for 5 years, it was heartbreaking - truly - and to know it was because of poor conditions - he stepped on a live wire after a bad storm. It still brings tears when I think of him, his situation (my husband got to go visit him several years ago), and his tragic end (on earth, though we are grateful for the assurance of his belief in the Lord and his place in the kingdom).

Our new boy is also in Uganda. We’ve only had him for two months now and I hope we get to go visit him some day as well. Thanks for making this so visible for so many. I’m praying for you all and your trip. Really. I am.

Shaun,
My family sponsors a boy named Lutalo Yasin in Uganda. We got our first letter from him today, and immediately we felt connected to him. Your blog updates and pictures, also make Lutalo’s life that much more real, if that makes sense. We pray to one day as a family go out there to visit Lutalo as the people of Uganda are have been on our hearts and the Lord has given us such a burden to pray for them.

Thanks for your update, if you run into a little boy named Lutalo, say hi for me!
