“When I hear yes I turn happy,” she said.
“Well, yea, I turn happy when I hear yes too but the answer is still no,” and I put her back in her chair and told her she needed to eat two more bites of broccoli before she could go play.
“It’s! Not! Yummy!,” she said.
“I know.”

Our heavenly Father makes us do stuff that is unpleasant even though He knows that completing that specific unpleasant task isn’t critical for our healthy development?
Things that are good for you aren’t always yummy. I needed to hear this today. In fact, I’ve needed it all week. Thank you.
and discipline is a good thing.
THOSE are the eyes that I fear!
You really didn’t say that you know that broccoli isn’t yummy…did you? Broccoli is great once you get older. It’s just not so hot when you’re young. Wonder why that is. Ranch dressing and broccoli I could eat all day long. If it’s not cooked. Raw broccoli great, cooked you gotta give me something to put over it. Other wise…yep totally no fun there.
Dude…what an awesome camera!
It’s easy to turn happy when we are being told yes or when things are going along peachy. Only when we’re asked or made to do the unpleasant are we dissatisfied with the way things are. Very much the gist of human nature… and yes… nice camera.
I wouldn’t be able to say “I know.” without lying. I think it’s very yummy ^_^
MEANING:
Your daughter has a super cute way with words.
And her dad is doin’ his best to raise her right.
Shaun,
It’s a funny thing how things we don’t think are yummy are sometimes the healthiest for us?
Kind of reminds me of times I think (or even say) “God, I don’t want to do this or that…” but deep down inside God is speaking to me, and saying, “you know it’s the right thing to do!”
But, ahhhh, my daily struggles…and the cool thing is, God still loves me, and knows that I will be back on track soon. He has seen me there, down before, and he knows he can win me back! He knows I am a work in progress, trying to adopt to the “non-yummier” things in life. And he will be there for me, even when I struggle with those “taste buds”.
Also, I have to agree with several others. Nice Camera..what brand and model is it?
^^Shawnspelledwitha’W’: you just spoke what’s kinda on my mind today.

Shaunspelledwitha’U’: She’s a cutie!
You’re on your third two year old and you couldn’t come up with anything better than that to convince her to eat the broccoli?
Beth
Having a four year old boy I find myself in these situations too. I have often had a thought about how this translates into my walk with God. I want a new job (my yes) but for some reason I cant seem to see past the things holding me back (my broccoli) and do what I know God wants of me. So I picture myself in a high chair trying to convince God that if I can just have the yes I need to make me happy I will eat my broccoli another time. This probably sounds silly. Oh well its out there. Since becoming a father it has really opened my eyes to what being a child of God should be. I often have a thought of a writing a book titled, “Things I learned as a father to be a better child (of God)”
“When I hear yes I turn happy,”
Already a great and powerful mind. She has learned the first and greatest secret of womanhood and she is only 3 (ish?)
I guess you’ve got your work cut out for ya buddy.
