That’s how it was at my house. Dad would leave for 2 weeks be back for a day then gone for 2 more weeks. There’d be days when I’d get home from school hole myself up in my room and just cry for my dad to come home. Mom would come in ask me what’s wrong and between snot and tears rolling down my face a bumbling very loud wail of “I want daddy” would come rolling off my lips. Yep I remember those days.
