I have a show tomorrow night in Elon, NC, promoted by some long time friends of mine. We came to the area, Brody and I, to get Brody’s tooth fixed. Remember Brody’s tooth issue? Big hole. In his wisdom tooth.
We spent five hours at the dentist getting x-rays, watching the Discovery Channel, getting cleaned, having a tooth yanked and…
…and getting our teeth bleached. I almost look like Ross.
Dazzling white. Very very white.

Oh, and here’s something they don’t tell you about this process on those makeover shows. The bleach sucks the moisture out of your teeth, leaving them dry and sponge-like. When stuff like – oh, I don’t know, AIR – gets into the “sponge’s” holes it hurts. Which means that you get shooting pains Tracy calls “zingers” randomly from time to time…say, when you breathe or drink or eat or breathe. Intense sharp pain inside your tooth – or so it feels. This goes away after a little time passes. She says. But she was free so how much water those words hold I don’t know.

Don’t tell me this was your first tooth bleaching. Really? All of my Nashville friends–like, ALL of you, artists and non-artists–have these dazzling smiles so I just, you know, assumed it was a requirement around town…

BTW, I’m going to start checking everybody for signs of Botox. I haven’t caught anyone yet, but I will begin requiring everybody to furrow their brow when I see them. So prepare to scowl when you’re in town tomorrow. And I’ll wear my Foster Grants when you grin.

When you say you look like Ross, please tell me you didn’t also spray a fake tan and start talking in a whiny way. I wouldn’t be able to take it if you did. I’ll make sure we have black lights so you can really show off your shiny dazzling white teeth in PA on Sunday night. See you then!

so, how long did it take for your Zingers to go away? and didnt you have a show that night or the next? thanks man I dont think I could look at your yellow teeth anymore, even if I only see that one pic on here.

They’re almost gone now. I had a show tonight (the day after) and only had one zinger during it. It was a bad one. I breathed in two quickly I guess. Almost screamed on the microphone. I’m a huge huge baby.
