Singer Derek Webb recently said, “A mother and her children who have to walk 15 miles a day every day to get dirty water to put into their bodies with a broken immune system that will eventually kill them is the right thing to rebel against.”

I had the opportunity to interview Derek last summer (he said he wanted to meet you sometime, by the way) and his take on things really impacted me. I haven’t seen the world the same since.
Blood:Water is doing some incredible things. It’s a great opportunity to help out with something that makes a lasting difference.
Hope this finds you well, Shaun. I got a kick out of your taunt-a-thon on Phil Wickham’s blog. Keep it up.

I talked to Phil today, and he was getting on a plane from Los Angeles to Baltimore. I told him he had five and a half hours to write a blog post in the air and post it when he got there.
He also said that he has been without internet for 6 days… and would return as soon as possible…
we’ll see…
Derek Webb is so right.
So true. My Compassion child in Tanzania recently wrote me a letter describing how she walks with two of her friends to get water. It made me sad that she had to walk a good distance to get water when it’s so available to us here. But the wonderful thing is that she told me that she recently became a Christian, and she seems like such a contented soul. Precious. Thanks so much for encouraging us to sponsor children! Now we have to pray about how many kids we should sponsor next. It’s so rewarding, isn’t it?
