Hey, Shaun. Thanks for the info on your tuning. I’ve been using 1-4-1-1-5-1 for a while, and it’s very easy and sounds great too. I got it from Crowder. Check it out:

Also, Jars of Clay uses an open tuning that is similar: 1-4-5-1-5-1 (Love Song for a Savior, etc.)!

It’s funny how as the old school of music training fades away, the quality of the music doesn’t go down. In the seventies I knew very few guitar teachers who didn’t insist that new guitar players had to relate to some established icon or way of playing.

I tabbed out the Chords for anyone who is interested.
Tip: Think like you are looking at a standard guitar with the neck straight up- (C#-G#-C#-G#-C#-F) The numbers are frets, zeros are open strings, and Xs are not played.

6th - 024000

I loved this “Learn Fake Guitar by Shaun Groves” video.

I own all the songbooks, and am slightly disappointed in them. I knew they sounded “off,” but anyway, thanks for sharing your “alternate tuning.”
