Go here to see a picture of Brant Hansen’s actual brain. Well, half of it. The other half refused to pose for pictures. Apparently thats the vanity lobe of the accordion player’s brain. Softrock stars use both hemispheres for this function so, good to know.
In related news, only a few more days until I get to dump caffeine into my brain again. How’s your Lent going? Have you been able to stay away from whatever you gave up for it?

Day 35 – “The countdown to caffeine”
Shaun Groves held hostage…
This can be such an awesome week for Christians… yesterday at a local PUBLIC school, a fifth grader asked the teacher, why we call it GOOD FRIDAY when it was so bad… He had a wide open door to answer a spiritual question and the Christian kids in the class then proceeded to explain the whole Gospl message ot the class.
I told that teacher last night that maybe that’s why he is still the school’s favorite teacher at the age of 67!
Open doors…. empty grave.
Lent has gone well. Kicking caffeine was hard but worth it. I screwed up once. About 2 weeks into it, I had some chocolate cake for desert at Chili’s. It didn’t even register in my mind that chocolate has caffeine. Anyway, I too am looking forward to filling my veins with caffeine. I’m dying for a Cherry Coke.
I gave up breakfast at McDonalds and I must confess that I messed up twice. Otherwise OK though.

I did well. Kicked a small habit that wasn’t very hard, but the reminder of why during the process was great.
For me too, Ryan. Caffeine needs to stay out of my diet anyway. It’s worse for me than the average person with a good colon. I’ll seriously try to stay off after Easter even. The reminder of Jesus every time I craved the stuff has been great for me.
I also gave up stats. I thrive on data and it was harder to give that up than it was caffeine. I have no idea how many hits I’m getting every day and it pains me. I’m flying blind! I WON’T be able to stay off stats. (My name is Shaun and I’m a complete dork.)
Remind me NEVER to put you in the same room with my regional director! We get DAILY phone calls and emails about the stats surrounding tax returns. Today we had to send an email EVERYTIME we completed a return! It was a VERY long day!

very interesting…
