A preemptive strike before Brody finds WiFi and angers Texans everywhere. Short version: ZZ Top is in Corpus Christi tonight. Their two biggest (and drunkest) fans (from West Texas) sat next to Brody on our last flight this morning.
I say we deport them to Canada. Any Texans second the motion?
Don’t mess with Texas…that includes making a bad first impression on visiting Californians.
Seriously, I hope Brody blogs about it. It’s a pretty fantastic tale. Horrifying but fantastic.

I agree. Don’t mess with Texas. And ZZ has been a good representation of Texas rock for years.
Were they just “big”, were the “drunk” or were they “so druck that Brody got a buzz just sitting near them”?
Having lived in Texas on two different occassions for short periods of time, I can attest to the greatness of the Tex/Mex. However, if ZZ is a good representation of Texas rock, the food would be where the greatness ends.

As a Canadian (in AZ), please don’t send them north!
Yeah, not so interested in these guys invading my home and native land. Maybe send them to Mexico? Or just realize that these guys are true Texans and that’s just the way it is.
Ouch.
Not seeing much in the way of “Texas Defending” going on here.
I was not speaking of rockers from Texas, but of the style of rock that is most unique to Texas. A very bluesy rock, typical of ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn and others.
Flame, Glenn – sorry to say it, but I’ve been to the Great White North and met a few similar characters up there. In fact, I’ve met them just about every place that I;ve traveled. These two just happened to sit amid a couple of widely-read bloggers.
As a native Texan (Dallas area), I second the motion, Shaun.
And I can’t wait to be back in the land of Tex-Mex, Austin City Limits, access roads, and family (well, mine anyway)
Yeah, I think you’ll find “character” any- and everywhere you go. Humans can be some of the dumbest people…
Canada?! Sorry but that’s the last thing we need is to be thought of as a ‘dump zone’. .
